St Kilda Project

This recently completed project in St Kilda showcases the transformation of a charming heritage-listed home through the addition of a contemporary double-storey rear extension. The outdated rear section of the original dwelling was carefully removed to make way for a modern addition that connects seamlessly with the existing structure. The design preserves the integrity and street presence of the heritage façade, while opening the rear of the home to expansive, light-filled living spaces suited to modern inner city living. A strong emphasis was placed on energy efficiency and long-term performance. The extension incorporates high-performance uPVC double-glazed windows, increased wall thicknesses, and enhanced insulation to significantly improve thermal comfort and energy efficiency throughout the home. The result is a refined integration of old and new, where heritage character and contemporary design exist in complete harmony.
